Application: Records Storage Business Relies on Morrison Company

CASE STUDY

Client Need:
Morrison Company was asked to develop a storage and retrieval solution that could be implemented in the Andrews Records Management (ARM) facilities. The plan needed to account for maximum use of available space and facility restrictions based on local building and fire codes. The solution needed to be flexible so it could be modified when the product mix changed or when the facilities are expanded.

Morrison Company Solution:
The uniquely designed rack and pick systems maximized the space, building code and other specifications while allowing for different configurations for aisle, beam height and depth depending on the frequency of retrieval needs and size of storage boxes. The rack design also maximized space and incorporated for fire protection systems to be efficiently tucked away. Specially designed components not only enhance the integrity of the system but also give prospective customers a feeling of a clean and safe environment for their records. The magnetic media vault also utilized Morrison Company’s engineering expertise to incorporate diverse product lines to gain maximum benefit for space and delivering product to the vault while incorporating a unique plan to access archived data. Morrison Company’s expertise in the Records Storage industry permits custom designed systems including open file, medical records, and catwalk systems as options.

Results:
ARM has become a leading voice of the records storage industry through their processes and leadership role in its industry association – PRISM International. Not only has ARM maximized the storage capacity of their facilities with efficient and dense storage and retrieval systems, but other moving and storage companies looking to enter the records storage industry frequently make site visits.
